Season's Stats

Jamie Sheehan commented on Johnny- Glen's blog post 'Odeon coming to Home Park'
"Just checked the stats, and our highest average attendance in a season was 23,290 in 1946/7. That season we finished 19th in the second tier. In the early 50s, we came very very close to securing back to back promotions which would have got us to…"

RODGER RUSE commented on Johnny- Glen's blog post 'Odeon coming to Home Park'
"James Brent has issued an excellent statement today on the Argyle web site, demonstrating that the costings of the Argyle Fans Trust Working Group were inaccurate and showing that the Akkeron proposal is definitely the best way ahead. It allows for…"

anglo_dutch commented on Johnny- Glen's blog post 'Odeon coming to Home Park'
"Basically history has shown that a stadium of 25,000 would be the ultimate size for normal football at Home Park. Apart from incidental games ( cup etc) we have never managed an average gate over a season exceeding 23-24, 000. Not even in the days…"

Jamie Sheehan commented on Johnny- Glen's blog post 'Odeon coming to Home Park'
"You have got to have balls of steel to be a football club owner. It's a thankless task. Look at Paul Stapleton. Vilified for not investing money in Argyle, then he did allow money to be spent, got others involved, they dared to dream big, it…"

RODGER RUSE commented on Johnny- Glen's blog post 'Odeon coming to Home Park'
"I hope that James Brent will read all these comments. I know Peter Jones was getting fed up with all the flack coming from a vast number of supporters and the Argyle Fans Trust about the plans for the grandstand. James Brent seems confident enough…"

Johnny- Glen commented on Johnny- Glen's blog post 'Odeon coming to Home Park'
"As far as replacing the main grandstand goes, regardless of the arguments over capacity vs attendance, there is another reason for its replacement.  Our grandstand is of the same construction as was Bradford City's stand.  For those…"

Jamie Sheehan commented on Johnny- Glen's blog post 'Odeon coming to Home Park'
"We are currently in League 2, and even when we were challenging at the top of the Championship in the middle of the last decade, we were only averaging 16-17k crowds. A stadium of 20k capacity will be enough until we are at least back at that level…"

Edwin Moss commented on Johnny- Glen's blog post 'Odeon coming to Home Park'
"yes  a ground  with  capacity of  around  20,000  will  be  pleanty  big  enough for  us  when  we  get  back  to the  championship. We  dont  want…"
