Carl Fletcher has said that he and the team are going to ignore the negative comments from some supporters about the style of football Argyle are playing this season. I must say that I prefer this sort of football to both the extremely negative and defensive but entirely necessary and understandable methods employed to secure our League status last season and the long ball game used by other managers in recent seasons.
I feel that the team are getting better and better and I agree with Carl that they are not getting just rewards for their efforts. They were superb for an hour against Port Vale and for most of the match today. Carl acknowledged that the quality dipped against Bristol Rovers but the fighting display at Morecambe lifted spirits and I believe that we shall soon see Argyle flying up the League. What Carl is doing with them is so reminiscent of what Sean O'Driscoll did at Bournemouth and Doncaster. It is no surprise that he has been Carl's mentor and the example he seeks to follow.
Surely there can be no supporters who are dis-satisfied with the overall standard of football which is improving week by week. There may be the odd defensive lapse (Purse was clearly at fault last week and some may criticise him for not closing down Britt Assombalonga today, though I prefer to acknowledge a touch of brilliance by a player destined for the Premiership) and certainly there needs to be a more clinical cutting edge in front of goal, but the beautiful football Argyle are playing deserves the highest praise.
Keep it up Carl and his team, you are doing us proud!! COYG!

Agree about Assombalonga its a big fish in a small pond syndrome , he is obviously far to good for this lge & destined for greater things. Looks like an astute loan signing by Sturrock.
